Bilateral malrotated kidney with major venous variant: a cadaver case report

چکیده
Introduction Congenital anomalies of the kidney exhibit great variety. The major anomalies are fused kidney, ectopic kidney, and malrotated kidney [1]. Because many affected patients are asymptomatic, some anomalies are incidentally found by computed tomography and others are found after death. Recent popularization of kidney transplantation requests has led to an increase in research of the vascular anatomy in patients with many kinds of kidney anomalies. In particular, the right common iliac vein is a very important vessel for angiostomy. Moreover, rotational anomalies of the kidney definitely affect the vascular structure. We herein report a case of bilateral malrotated kidneys with a variation of the common iliac vein found during a gross anatomical dissection course for students in 2015.

Botulism with bilateral papiledema and venous sinus thrombosis: A case report
Background: Food-born botulism is caused by ingestion of contaminated food with clostridium botulinum neurotoxin. Case: In food-born botulism, due to acetylcholine release blockade, neuromuscular signs and symptoms are common, but in this case report we present a food-born botulism with papiledema and venous sinus thrombosis. Conclusion: Papiledema and fever could not rule out the diagnosis...
متن کاملA rare anatomical variant of ansa cervicalis: case report
AbsractA rare variant of ansa cervicalis was discovered during dissection of the neck in amale cadaver. The superior root of the Ansa cervicalis was formed by the C1 ventralramus. It accompanied with the vagus nerve in place of the hypoglossal nerve and descendedinto the carotid sheath with it. Moreover the C1 ventral ramus formed fromthe sheath and joined the inferior root from C2 and C3 ventr...
متن کاملPaper: A Case Report of a Rare Variation in Arising Branches of Brachial Artery
Variations in the arterial pattern of the upper limb are abundant and diverse and have been observed frequently either in cadaver dissection or in clinical practice and reports. In the most of these reports, radial or ulnar arteries were commonly involved, which can be damaged during surgical procedures. This report presents a case of a rare variation in arising branches of brachial artery. Dur...
متن کاملBilateral variation of the venous corona mortis with a presentation previously undescribed.
The corona mortis is an anatomic variant that involves anastomosis between obturator vessels, external iliac vessels and/or inferior epigastric vessels. It is clinically and surgically important because its section may lead to fatal consequences when pelvic procedures are performed. We report a case in which, during an anatomical dissection in a female cadaver, a bilateral corona mortis that in...
متن کاملRenal Cell Carcinoma in a Right Malrotated Kidney
The authors report a case of renal cell carcinoma in a right malrotated (horizontal axis) kidney. The patient was treated by hand-assisted laparoscopic radical nephrectomy. This is the first report of a horizontal axis malrotated kidney with renal cell carcinoma.
